School uniform was introduced following a survey of parents in 2000 and was reviewed in 2010 through consultation with parents. It consists of a red school sweatshirt or cardigan with the school logo and white polo shirt (logo optional), worn with grey school trousers, a grey pinafore or a grey skirt. In the interests of safety we ask parents to ensure that flat, black shoes are worn in school. In summer, a red gingham dress or grey shorts may be worn. A copy of our School Uniform policy can be obtained from the office or downloaded here
There is also a uniform for PE which consists of a T-shirt and black shorts (logo optional). Sports trainers may be worn for outdoor lessons but, for Health & Safety reasons, plimsolls should be provided for indoor lessons. Fashion trainers are unsuitable for PE lessons. For gymnastics, children usually work in bare feet unless parents notify us that this is not possible. Tracksuits may be worn outside in the colder months. Children must be able to remove their own earrings for all PE lessons, including swimming. Long hair must be tied back for PE and swimming lessons.
Uniform items may currently be purchased from IDENTITY in Barrow-in-Furness, or bought online from myclothing.com or Coniston Corporate Shop (click on these links).
Non logo items, polo shirts, trousers, skirts and PE kits can be purchased from other sources such as local supermarkets.
Unusual or extreme hairstyles, including patterned shaving, are not appropriate for school and we discourage the use of coloured dye and hairgel. Nail varnish is also discouraged.
Any parents having difficulty providing the correct school uniform are asked to contact the school office.
