Almost all of the children who enter our Year 3 come from Croftlands Infant School. Throughout their final year at the Infants the children are introduced to the Junior School by visits to concerts, assemblies, classrooms etc. The Infant children use our ICT suite and the more able mathematicians attend a Lower school maths lesson once a week. Our staff also visit the Infant classes. Children entering from other schools are given the opportunity to be involved in our induction sessions, see their classrooms and, where possible, meet their teacher before they arrive in September. There is an induction morning in July when the children spend the morning in their new classroom with their new teacher.
During the Summer term, there is also a formal meeting for parents of children starting school in September, when they are introduced to the school and are able to meet the Lower School teachers. Parents who wish to arrange individual visits to school before their children's admission should ring the school for an appointment. Further information about applying for a place at our school can be found here.
